If you were looking for a home to buy or rent in the Triangle, how important would it be to have a big master bedroom? Would 14 x 14 be big enough? How about 14 x 11? |

How about 14 x 11? I've had a 14 x14 and now I have one much bigger. Honestly, I like the bigger one better. I'm not sure I'd go back to the 14 x 14. |

I'm in a 14x12 and it is plenty of space for me, but then again it's just me. I would think a 14x14 would be fine if you are used to that size or something smaller, but not if you're coming from a larger space. Think about how much time you will actually spend in there and what all furniture/other things you'll be putting in there. |

If you have a king size bed those size rooms are way too small. My kids have those sized rooms (14x12)and have full sized beds and there is just enough room for that once s dresser, desk, nightables are in there. I think that sized room would deter a lot of buyers honestly. |

Those both seem a little small for me - that said, I don't like the huge master bedrooms in a lot of new houses, where the master bedroom is giant and the secondary bedrooms are tiny, and the master closets are bigger than the kids' rooms. We have somewhat over-sized bedroom furniture, and finding a master bedroom that would hold the furniture was an issue for us when looking - a couple of older homes we had on our short list got ruled out because our furniture wouldn't fit in the master. Our bedroom is 14 x 16 and is PERFECT for us. Couldn't go smaller, but honestly wouldn't want a lot bigger (though when looking at houses that didn't have a separate office, we considered using the extra space (in some cases a sitting room) in the master as a possible office.) |

As long as it fits a bed big enough for the couple, who love each other, It's plenty big enough.... |

Overrated. Our master is 18x20 with an adjoining 14x14 "sitting room", and it's way, way overkill. I'd much rather have it be an extra bedroom. |

Why the heck to master bedrooms need to be so spacious? I don't get it. We need room for a bed, a dresser and a couple of nightstands. That's it. We sleep in there, we don't do gymnastics. 14x14 would work for us. I think we has 14x12 in another house and it worked fine even with our king size bed. Ours now is 13'7" x 17'7" according to the floorplan. I really would not want any bigger. To answer your question, a huge master bedroom is NOT important to us. |
